1. Who we are
GD Visionary Group Ltd (“we”, “us”) organises Black Star Christmas and runs theblackstarfestival.com. We’re responsible for the personal information you share with us here, and we handle it in line with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
Contact us about your data at info@theblackstarfestival.com, or at 26 Borlatop Street, Labone, Accra.
2. What we collect
Only what you give us, for the reason you give it:
- Buying a voucher: your name, email, phone number, the amount, and the name and email of anyone you send a voucher to.
- Contact and feedback forms: your name, email and message.
- Guest list: your email address.
- Vendor requests: your name, business name, phone number, type of business, and the documents you upload, such as an FDA permit or business registration.
We don’t collect card or mobile money details. Paystack handles those directly.
3. How we use it
- To process your payment and deliver your voucher.
- To reply to your message, review a vendor request, or act on your feedback.
- To send festival news, if you joined the guest list. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To run the festival safely, prevent fraud, and keep the records the law asks of us.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
4. Who we share it with
We use a few trusted services to run this website. Each gets only what it needs:
- Paystack, to take payments.
- Google (Sheets and Drive), to keep form submissions and vendor documents.
- Web3Forms, to email form submissions to our inbox.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
We may also share information when the law requires it, or with the National Commission on Culture where it’s needed to run the festival. Some of these services store data outside Ghana; they protect it under their own security and privacy terms.
5. Cookies and analytics
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies or identify you. The site saves a small note in your browser so a pop-up you’ve closed doesn’t show again.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the reason you gave it, and for as long as accounting and tax law require for purchases. Vendor documents are deleted once they’re no longer needed for the festival.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can object to how we use it. Email info@theblackstarfestival.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission.
8. Security
This website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to our records is limited to the people who need it.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
