The festival
When and where is Black Star Christmas?
On 23 and 24 December 2026, at Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra. See the schedule for what’s on each day.
Is entry free?
Yes. Entry is free for everyone, on both days. You only pay for what you buy inside, with a voucher.
Who organises it?
Black Star Christmas is organised by GD Visionary Group Ltd, the company behind the Black Star Festival, together with the National Commission on Culture. Read more about us.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. It’s made for families and children, with food, theatre, music and craft. Children should be with an adult at all times.
Vouchers and payment
What is a voucher?
A voucher is credit you spend inside the festival, on food, drinks, crafts and activities. Vendors at the festival only accept vouchers, not cash or mobile money, so get yours before you come.
How do I get one?
Two ways. Voucher cards of GHS 100, 500 or 1,000 are sold at select outlets. Or buy a virtual voucher on our voucher page, for any amount from GHS 100 to GHS 10,000.
Online payments are processed securely by Paystack. We never see or store your card details.
How do I receive a virtual voucher?
By email, to the address you give when you pay. It usually arrives within minutes. If it hasn’t arrived within 24 hours, check your spam folder, then contact us and we’ll send it again.
Can I send a voucher to family in Ghana?
Yes. Choose “Send to someone” on the voucher page and enter their details. We email the voucher to them, and send you a receipt.
What happens to credit I don’t spend?
Vouchers are valid for Black Star Christmas 2026 only. Any credit left after 24 December 2026 expires, and can’t be exchanged for cash.
Can I get a refund?
Vouchers are final sale. If the festival is cancelled or postponed, you can have a full refund. The details are in our refund policy.
What if I lose my voucher?
Treat your voucher like cash, because anyone holding it can spend it. If you lose a virtual voucher’s email, we can resend it to the address used at purchase. Lost voucher cards can’t be replaced.
Vendors and partners
How do I sell at the festival?
Send a request through our vendor page with your business details and, depending on what you sell, your FDA permit or business registration. We’ll be in touch on the number you give us.
How do I partner with or sponsor Black Star Christmas?
Write to info@theblackstarfestival.com and tell us about your organisation. We’ll reply by email.
